I'm on someone's address book

Since Saturday I've gotten over 500 of the 'big@boss.com" virus e-mails. This is absolutely insane.

Quick update: A grep of the mail logs shows 921 of the damn things. Makes you wonder how much of AOL/MSN/Yahoo/HotMail's bandwidth and disk storage is devoted to this stupid thing...

Hi Dan,

I got hit by about the same number (the work/virus is called sobig_a, I am informed). In my case it was all to the old '@uk.sun.com' address I used when I was posting to p5p a lot - we dropped the 'uk.' bit quite a while back. Looks like some malicious twerp has harvested the p5p mail archives. If I could get hold of the cretin responsible, so help me I'd stuff his head into one of those septic tanks I keep getting spam about.

Thank God for procmail, that's what I say...

This is another address book/inbox/IE cache scraping worm, like a bunch of the recent ones. There is, unfortunatley, no single cretin spamming people, just as lot of folks with pathetically out of date Outlook and antivirus installs. If the cretin who wrote this thing is ever found, well... I'd love to see the pictures of the aftermath.
