CODE OF HONOR: Uphold the ideals of the Legion and UP, Look out for the welfare of all Legionnaires.
BACKGROUND: Born to a struggling working-class family on the planet Braal, where everyone has magnetic powers, Rokk Krynn demonstrated precise and powerful command of magnetism far beyond the racial norm. Drafted at an early age to play magnoball, Braal's most popular team sport, Garth's powers combined with his natural intelligence and charisma to make him a super-star by the age of 15. It is his magnoball fans who originally gave him the nickname "Cosmic Boy." (He saw little material benefit from his early fame, however, because the demands of an improvished family combined with the manipulations of a dishonest agent to keep his compensation minimal.)
Cos (his preferred nickname = he is seldom called Rokk) became a Legion founder and the Legion's first elected leader. His leadership position was briefly revoked by the U.P. government, but subsequent events proved that he was best qualified for the position and he was allowed to resume command. Rokk spent several months MIA in the 20th century, during which the Legion elected a new leader (Invisible Kid). Upon his return to his own time, he was only too glad to let somebody else deal with the pressures of command.
A natural athlete and a natural leader, Cos is also perhaps the most skilled Legionnaire at dealing with the press and the public.
Cos and Imra formed a romantic attachment during their stay in the past, but it was eventually discovered that Cos' feelings were being subconciously influenced by Imra's telepathy. The relationship ended when Imra realized her real feeling's were for Garth (Cos bears her no ill-will for her unintentional manipulation of his emotions). Several of the female Legionnaires seem to be attracted to Cos (most notably XS) but at the moment he is unattached.
When the situation offers him no other opportunity to use his powers, he has been known to use the metallic disks that decorate the front of his costume as blunt projectiles (doing Crushing damage as found on the TK tables).
He has one younger brother, Pol, who idealizes him. |
